How The Hexagon Is Assembled

The hexagons created by the women of the bordo are made in a few simple steps.  We are grateful to the many friends of One Common Thread who have donated material and scraps from their quilting projects. Once the material is received, all of the fabric is cut into small 3" squares.

Secondly, the women use a 2" die cut to cut out the hexagon patterns for the fabric.  These cut outs help the women create an even hexagon for wrapping the fabric around.

From this point we take the thread and do a basting stitch around the fabric to hold it into place. No glue is used to make these hexis! The hexagons are then counted and separated into colors for assembly into our quilt kits.

At this point the kits are labeled and ready for your enjoyment!
